ok, i wanna hook a fuel pressure gauge soon, and also with the HO intake cam i'm not sure if the feed fuel line clear the power steering pulley. so i decided to change that line with a braided line.
So my question is, will a -6an fitting bolt right up to the feed fuel line?
thanx.
The end of the hard bent line needs to be flared (42, not 37 degrees), or you can use a crimp on connector. I don't know of anyone that makes a fitting to go from the GM quick disconnect to AN.
i mean, will i 6an fitting bolt to the fuel rail??
why 42? i tought that an fitting needed a 37 degree!!
what i wanted to do i cut the feed line near the rubber line, put the nut, sleeve than flare (37 degree), then the male union with 1/8npt tap in it, then the hose fitting, then braided line all the way to the fuel rail. how will i hook the braided line directly to the fuel rail? is that even possible? or i'll have to cat the line near the fuel rail and put a male union again!!!
thanx
Purechoice ( www.purechoicemotorsports.com ) makes a fitting that you attach to the hard line with a -6an fitting on the end. Part # 5800 That is what I am using and so far no problems. I think you need either a 3/8" or 1/2" NPT to -6an fitting on the stock fuel rail. I will have to look at mine to be sure

Under what section did you find that part number?
huh.... wait a minute....
so 3/8 will bolt to the fuel rail?
it seems small compare the size of the nut that bolt to the rail which about 3/4"....
Ohhh to the fuel rail... Thought you asked the size of the stock line... my bad...
yeah, what size will bolt to the fuel RAIL?
thanx!
Part number 5800 is under new products. Here is a link to the pics

You're right, its 37. I typed it in wrong.....my bad.
its all good!
now i need to know what size will bolt directly to the fuel rail...
anyone?
You need a 3/8" to -6 fitting. That bolts to the factory and RK Sports fuel rails

Are you sure that 3/8" will bolt to the rail? because looking at it, it measure about 3/4". The line is 3/8" tho!
anyone?? i just went to the hardware store, and 3/8 is too small, its 5/8, but 5/8 wont bolt the rail, the thread is different!!!
i dunno what to do....
Did you try 1/2"??? I can't find my receipt on what fitting I bought. I went to Jegs with the fuel rail and test fitted the fitting before I bought it

i couldn't open them all to try it. the guy told me its 5/8, but the thread is different and that i had to go to a car store, because that was just plumbing for house.
maybe its 1/2" i'll go try it out tomoroow at a different store.
thanx
went to the store and tried 1/2" and its not working.....
I'm lost now!
anyone can help?
thanx
i finally found it, so for those who might need this in the future, its 20mm diameter and 1.5mm thread pitch.
now where can i find 20mm x 1.5 female to -6an male???
Earls has a 20mm male to -10 male adapter, and they also have a -10 female to -6 male reducer. I can't find a 20mm female to female coupler though.
yeah, if i cant find anything i'll cut the line before the rail and put a -6an nut/sleeve on it!!
I just wanted to be cleaner and bolt directly to the fuel rail....
thanx
You could also try calling Pegasus Auto Racing 1-800-688-6946. If they don't have something on the shelf, they'll probably be able to tell you where to find it. I know they have 30mm to AN stuff, so chances are they have 20mm.
