Pulling motor help please...again.

Hey I was just wondering if there was any way to pull the engine without disconnecting the transmission, and if anyone has any guides or sites on how to remove the driveaxles, since my manual is really vague. Thanks.

if you remove the lower subframe you can drop the engien and tranny out the bottom all together..makes it pretty easy...as far as the drive axles just pry them out,use a pry bar or big screw driver ,theyll pop out

I pulled the motor and tranny as one out of my sunfire out of the bottom, it was a 2.4 5spd. I didn't pull the subframe, infact I had the AC unit and the belt still hooked up completely, its a tight fit but you can do it.

I pulled my 2200 out the top

disconnect all the wiring harnesses, hoses, etc

undo the driveshaft nuts, undo the steering knuckles and front suspension to get them out then pry them off of the transmission (they'll pop out)

when I lifted the OHV up I tilted the transmission down so that it would sneak out around the battery tray. I bent it up a bit, but nothing a hammer couldn't fix.

Just make sure you have some friends to help manuever the motor while someone mans the hoist.

I just yanked a 2.4l with trans attached LAST NIGHT! Just pry out the axles, and Like PJ said, manuever it around the tray. We took out the brake master cylinder to, just for more room.
