Anyway, I had to just post this. This sounds like complete BS!!!. I just called the dealership on a 1991 2.3L quad oil pump and they want $406.00. Are they on glue or is does that price actually sound right. Prices are Canadian. I've been looking for a bit for an aftermarket pump and found the melling, but thought I'd give the dealership a try.

Time to get it going again.....
they're on glue, the oil pump from melling costs around 100bux..

I figured that. I just can't understand how they can charge that??? Oh well, I'll end up getting the better melling pump anyway.

Time to get it going again.....
dealer = inflated prices for most parts in general
They are not on glue. It's the price.
I know, I had to buy one for my Ho. From Federal mogul, 440$ retail price. I got it for 230$
That's canadian. Brand new pump.

Not all the time. i work for a Ford dealership, and some of are parts are cheaper then they are at parts stores. It all depends on what type of part you are looking for thought.

didnt they quit making the 2.3L, if so, i think that is why the price would be so high.
