I have seen these ads for helping the hp and mpg on the cars called the turbonator. Has anyone tried this out, is it any good or is it better for me just to get a cool air intake?
Don't know what your talking about on the turbonator, but unless you know somebody that has one and can tell you from personal experience, I would go with Cold Air Intake.
Just get a wai or CAI, none of this bilge pump fan intake crap. Read the FAQ.
Turbonator = Poo
I wouldn't suggest getting a Cold Air intake either...it's all a gimmick. They say that you because the filter is outside engine bay and in your wheel well that it'll pick up more cooler air than inside like you're going to gain some astounding amount of power from doing so. Inside your engine bay, there is enough circulation and cool enough air to be drawn inside your motor and cool down your engine bay. It's just extra money spent when you can get a regular "inside the bay" intake.

i agree with the turbo negro
less piping and bends = smoother flow and more air
once you start moving, air is ripping in the bay

But will what you guys are talking about improve the mpg of my car? or just improve my hp?

I absolutely agree with you NJHK, on both points that is. The turbonator I have heard no good experiences and the cold air I feel is just a way to get a few more $. I have the Weapon R and so far am pleased.

I've heard that it can improve mpg, but only by 1 or 2 if anything. I've had friends swear by it, but again I haven't seen any "proof" other than their word. I personally didn't notice any gain or loss of mpg when I put mine on.
Well lets not confuse the poor lad.
Wai= any intake were you can see the filter when you pop the hood but heres were it gets confusing alot of them are marketed as cold air intakes or just called cai.
cai= the filter is in the fenderwell a total pain to change/clean the filter you have to take the wheel off and stuff
Buy the wai it will give you the same affect and its cheaper and alot simpler to work with!!!

A simple pipe, as straight as possible, few soft bends. No fan or metal wings inside will net you more HP (about 5) and better mileage (about 10

. Now your gonna love the sound a simple intake makes, But if you hear it, your on the gas too much.
el fuego...
what kit did you use in your sig?
is that all do it yourself?
The kit in my sig, Is known here as a lego intake, your gonna get flamed for it, BUT it is a DIY setup, and the parts are readily available. or you can go to
http://www.powerflowracing.com/3modular.html for more infomation.
The one in the sig varies slightly from what i currently have.
In the sig is a 90 degree elbow, 6" straight pipe, Manifold, then a 6" straight pipe, and a 90 degree elbow.
Now where can you can a good one to?
Sorry, I wanted to know a good canadian site to order a wai or cai
thanks fuego
i actually just saw a kit like that at autozone
it was made by spectre industries, or something like that
