MSN Autos doesn't always have their head in the right place, by that I mean the states are occasionally screwy so if anyone can confirm any of these for me I'd appreciate it.
They claim:
(all 5 speeds as who cares about auto...jk don't flame, all coupes)
'99
2787 lbs
150hp @ 5500 rpm
167lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
HAS EGR
'00
2784lbs (and says auto is 2757, interestingly)
150hp @ 5600 rpm
155 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm (I have seen stock dyno saying it makes 155 twice, interestingly)
SOME HAVE EGR? (EGR stopped mid '99???)
'01
2617 lbs
150hp @ 5200 rpm
167lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
DOESNT HAVE EGR?
So... are they totally screwed up? Why would the '99 makes 167lb-ft torque? Why would the '01 be much lighter than the '00??? Does EGR setup really restrict that much power or add that much weight?
I have an '00 that was said to be purchased in '99 but I'm inclined to believe the 2617lbs/167lb-ft stats because my car has owned several faster cars with ease for some strange reason even though it was never modified (prior to the little bit I did with it, which was before and after said owning)...
Does MSN have their stats backwards? Did any "00" models made in '99 have EGR? Do either of the years have 167lb-ft torque????
Nope, still 155 lbs of torque. It's off.

as far as weight , they prob used cars with different options
The torque on all the 2.4's per GM has always been 155. GM never updated the power ratings on the 2.4 after the changes in 99 and 2000. I think it is safe to say with those changes the 2000+ motors are a little stronger than the pre2000 motors. Maybe not a huge power increase, but some. no real proof to this.
