which would be better ? i want the most power i can get out of my exhaust but i dont know much about 4 cyl . i dont really care much about how loud the exhaust will . i just want power without the cel on all the time . do our cars run better n/a with or without the converter ? if without how do i go about stopping the cel from coming ? do the o2 simulators work or are they just a fraud? is they do work where can i get one and how much? thanks in advance.

Keep the converter. a lot less of a hassle. upgrade to a high flow one.

Keep the cat. Our cars run better without a cat.

honestly, removing mine did exactly nothing for me except force me to spend another $50 on an O2 Silulator to get rid of CEL

I'm putting in a Magnaflow high-flow cat hopefully this month.

O2 Sim DOES work. Well, it does what it's supposed to do, which is eliminate the CEL, but in turn, after a few hours of driving it feels like the computer goes into limp-mode and you lose a little power. Not a good trade-off. Expecially since not having a cat will not only gain you nothing N/A, but will also make exhaust sound crappy.

There is an alternative to the O2 Sim, search around this forum for the thread discussing how to make your own with a spark plug anti-fowler Could be something to try.

ok so eliminating the cat is not a good idea. then i will go with a high flow . will i have any problems with the cel?

It varies from car to car. I'm running the stock cat, but there's nothing in it, it plugged up last year so I pulled all the crap out since I didn't have the cash to replace it. But with basically no cat i still don't get a CEL and the car never goes into limp. I have no idea why, because all the books say I shold get CEL codes left and right. But that's not to say it won't. Some of the guys complain that the hi-flo cats set off the CEL, but others run them with no problems. Best thing is to try the cat out, if you get a code, do the anti-fowler mod and that should take care of it.

Get a hi-flow cat - I have had a car without one and it was way too loud + CEL problems.

I got the 94035 cat for my car and it does make a very noticible noise under the car. It sounds very raspy, even with a 25" resonator and oval muffler. When it warms up it kinda goes away but you can definitely hear it under the car and it is annoying. To clarify, the noise is coming from the cat, NOT the muffler. I've had it on for about 2 months now and the sound still hasn't gone away.

is there any noticeable power gain with a high flow cat?

With the addition of a header and a full exhaust system, I'd say yes, otherwise the gain is probably negligible.
