cherry bomb resonators?

im sorry if this is a dumb question thats one of those "you get what you pay for" gigs... but i figured maybe if someone had it, id get some great input. i work at pep boys as a 2nd job...and we have those...i got a megan catback on the way to my house, and was curious of those resonators were POS, (i can get one for about 20 bux after my discount) or if im better off spending the extra cash for a magnaflow...or if it really doesent matter.

thanks to any that shed light on this probably dumb question!

Most people just use the cherry bomb red resonators to tone it down a little, they help out, and are constructed for what you would need, this is one of those parts thats just cheap for what we need.

I've got a 24" thrush glasspack that I use as resonator, seems good to me! Just mount it after the cat and you should be good to go. I've heard good and bad things about the magnaflows, that's why I steered clear of one.

yea, i heard the megan racing is pretty deep and not raspy...but its loud as hell...so i wanted to make sure id have as little cop trouble as possible...plus i dont wanna be an a$$...ya know?

so the cherrybomb would be fine for that kind of purpose?

As El Fuego said make sure it's a perforated core, not louvered. If they're louvered, just get the Walker/Dynomax/Thrush Magnum Glasspack, they use perforated cores.

Basically the difference is that a perforated core has no intrusions into the flow area of the exhaust. It simply has holes in the sides of the inner tube while a louvered has sections of metal pressed into the central flow area and thus reduces exhaust flow.

Yep, my Cherry Bomb glasspack is perforated, worked great for a resonator, and deepended the Magnaflow's sound by quite a bit.
