I test drove a cobalt SS supercharged the other day, i wasnt impressed with the performance at all, doesnt seem much faster than my slightly modded ecotec, but anyways I Love the sound of that car, how do I make my 03 cavalier sound like a cobalt ss? I dont wanna do a fart can on it , i dont want loud and raspy i want a nice quiet , v8 type of throaty rumble like the cobalt ss, any advice?????
Try the Cobalt SS/SC muffler??

a turbo car and a N/A car won't sound the same just cuz you use the same muffler...and why is this in general?
GO PATS!!!

This is in the performance section and the cobalt ss is not a turbo car its supercharged
it wasn't in the performance section originally. and turbo or supercharged...its still not going to sound the same just cuz it uses the same muffler.
GO PATS!!!

^ ^ ^ Granted. Perhaps that's why it's called the SS Supercharged and not the SS Turbocharged? The general idea is "boost". Forced induction, whichever method, will alter the tone. I don't know how to replicate that aspect of it except to say go get a supercharger. Perhaps that's not the direction you want to head, though.
Other than that, replicate all aspects of the SS SC exhaust system. Pipe diameter, resonator length/diameter/core diameter, perhaps get ahold of an SS SC muffler, and have a shop fab up a comparable system. I don't know specifics about the SS SC pipe size, but chances are it won't provide the same performance advantage as a cat-back would. I could be wrong though, if the SS SC uses 2.25" or larger pipe.
idk i have QBEs old muffler and it sounds very close to his turbo car did with it on, and it's not even the same motor and his is turbo...

either buy the cobalt ss/sc or buythe muffler from 1
but dont cry when your car doesnt sound like the cobalt
the SS super would be way faster.
