just picked up an engine out of a cobalt ss... does anyone know anything about doing this, im about to start on it tomorrow and want to find out what i will need to do for the engine mounts, and if the tranny off my 04 cavi will mount right up to the ss engine. any help would be great. and yes im new to engines, just trying to learn.

should be an almost drop in swap, trany should bolt right up(same as the 2.2 eco, just only 2.0), mounts will be the same as its an eco motor. The only thing i see is going to be the computer and wiring.

your goign to need the entire car or a stand alone or something along those lines..arent those cars drive by wire..which means youll need all the wires,computers,controllers and all that..phil
yea, different electronics COMPLETELY... for one, not a cable hookup directly to the tb its all electronic... here, i did a search and this is what i came up that might help out a bit...

dude, that swap would cost more to do than buying a cobalt ss. trany wont match up. you need custom mounts, and the electronics of the car would have to be totally replaced. Just take the charger and mod that to fit on your motor and call it good.
better off buying the Gm charger for your car
