PERFORMANCE CHIPS

ok....since i bought a new car i bought something really dumb and im probably the only that did it too...and that was buying a performance chip...which is supposed to send a fake reading to your icu..reading cold air only at about 55...and supposed to kick up your hp up 20...up to...which in my case i think only 4 or less...but the only time i feel a kick is actually reaching between 5and 6rpms...and a kick it is...

has anyone else bought one and noticed a difference??

They are junk. They are just a resistor, and it doesn't do anything. Remove it once and you're car will run the same. There are no "chips" for our cars from 96 and up.

Yea if it's the one that plugs into the IAT sensor it's a cheap resistor. I been selling them for a buck here, but really all mine do is modify the return resistance reading to something adjustable in the car. Basically i sell it as a signal modifyer for thoes who really want to buy it. Alternatively you could invest in hp tuners, i hear that software is the best option for 96 on up cavaliers.

I'm working on a solution for the 95 ecu that would be a full rechipping option, complete internal memcal reworking and tuneable with emulation and data logging.
