car leaning out on accel

well i have yet another problem with the gm reflashed, stock ecu sunfire. Im cruising randomly and when i come to a stop and go to accel the air fuel gauges goes directly to all the way lean and putters til i give it more gas and it catches it self if it doesnt die (goes up hill and dies most of the time if you start at the bottom from a stop). I took the nitrous completely off and checked all connections on the sensors and the OBD 2 didnt read ANY codes what so ever. Sometimes also when i put the car in park and then put it in drive and proceed it putters then also. again i have checked the TPS, IAC, i have new o2 sesors in and everything.

Another question i have is if i get the Apexi SAFC can i adjust the air fuel to where it doesnt do this since or something im running rich on reg driving and WOT cause i just dont wanna put anymore cash into the car when i get random problems that puzzle me and everyone i ask about it, i know i need HPT but the car still shouldnt do this tuned or not cause this happens randomly without me touching anything. i heard the SAFC doesnt do much but ive heard that it works fine from some turbo talons and such locally. thanks guys once again..

Mine does the same thing... but throws a P0171 code - lean.

I've got a lot of 'breathing' mods... exhaust secret cam, bigger valves, PnP head.... but no fuel mods. I always figured that was the problem.

Good question... how's the weather been lately?? What's your elevation?

I noticed that my car pings on hard throttle... even on 94 octane.... but.... when I went on a trip to Alberta, which has much higher elevation.... that the car no longer threw the lean code.... and I could floor it and got no pinging whatsoever.....

I wonder if air density has something to do with it?

ok, i got a mechanic to check it out on his computer (otc or something like that) and all voltages to all sensors and all that junk is fine. I unplugged the O2 sensor (primary 1) and it doesnt do the problem at all, i plug it in it does it, could the 02 be bad or what?

It COULD be bad... I can't tell you that over the 'net. I changed mine, but the problem remained.

I'm going to put an EGT on my engine and see what it's really doing. Either the computer thinks it's lean (mistakenly), or it really is lean. Pick one.

i dunno john, i have the 2.6 pulley with no injection yet and all the head and bottom end work done you can possibly do, should be rich.

I was thinking exactly the opposite.... all these breathing mods, but no fuel mods.... that should make you lean (which we both are). Go figure.
