Well, I am finally wrapping everything up with my boosted motor, and I am putting on the intake manifold, but the infamous egr problems. I will be getting the hpt software as soon as all of the bugs are worked out to eliminate the trouble code, but for now, I am wondering what path i should go. If I left the solinoid on there plugged in without anything else, just hanging somewhere not seen, would it still throw a trouble code? I can put up with a check engine light, but I heard something about the car not running right at all if you leave the trouble code on there? I dont know, doesnt sound right to me but, anything is possible in the world of ODBII. In taht situation, about the only option i would have left is to buy a code scanner and delete the code everytime I start the car. I should buy a code scanner anyways, but it would be a hassle to delete the code every time. Another question, anyone know what the bolt size is taht you need for the install, and I have the adaptor flange, so they would need to be like a half inch longer. Also, do you guys buy longer studs on the bottom, or do you use the same bolts as you do on the top and sides? Thanks, throw me some insite.
HPT can REMOVE the codes from the ECM, preventing it from throwing the codes in the first place (Think 99 ECM swap, w/o doing 95% of the work)........ and why are people waiting? I just dont understand it.....
Yes it will throw a code even if its plugged in...... its a low flow code..... the MAP sensor is used to double check the performance of the EGR, if it doesnt see a change in engine vac. it throws a code.

I know that, i never said it couldnt, that is WHY I want to buy HPT, and I will, just not right now. I will wait until it gets outta beta, and all of the bugs are worked out and when it is a better time for me, because I am a 96 and I have to swap pcms and engine harnesses with a 97, and I want to get this thing going soon. But will it run fine with the code?
96 your kinda screwed then for the egr
and yes it will throw a code , jake gets it every time he starts his car , and has a code checker and just clears it each time
only thing you can do is to rig up the egr and make it work , ive got a EGR HO intake , and the pipe for it , but the pipe and the pedistal the egr is on needs to be modified to fit the HO intake , i want 150.00 for the intake and pipe
Thing is, im not worried about a code, i can live with a code, all I want to know is if my car will run fine without it. If it will run fine and all i get is a code, I will take everyhting off, put on a block off plate and look at a check engine light. If I have to rig it up so my car will run, I'm not worried about that either, I could do that as well, but I wont is if the only thing I will benefit from is not having a code.
there is no problems with the egr you will just have a code on the dash it wont run weird it wont do anything at all if it does it is from another problem not the egr dont worry about the egr nothing will happen due to it being blocked or because of the cel just finish it and get it running and get the hp tuners quit waiting im sure itll help solve any boost issues or anything else needed
Thank you, that is all I needed.
