Woops, forget about that one, I found a cheaper one. But yeah, are these any good, and are there any engine oil coolers? Any other such things like this? Thanks.

nothing for the eco tec
only for the 2.2ohv and 2.4
they are worth doing but the eco doesnt have a external filter , so to do is alot of major work
only other way is to get a 2.0 , or 2.4 block , they came with oil coolers
Just look for transdapt or B&M coolers. Much better quality, and cheaper price.
worked wonders on my boosted sunfire, tranny was slipping at the track from overheating (automatic 4 speed) and i installed this oil cooler and now it has no problems.
dude i got my cooler outta a pickup truck, any cooler will work.
Hey, will this filter work on the 2.4? The only thing im confused about is the adapter that goes in between the filter and block.. Are they universal? and how does it attach.? Ive never seen one in person..

I work at an Allison Transmission dealer (they are in heavy trucks) and i can say with much confidence and knowledge that along with synthetic fluid a cooler is the best thing you can do for your auto trans. heat is the #1 killer of auto trannies. fluid operating temps for most should be around 170-185 degrees. at temps above 200 degrees the fluid breaks down rapidly. not only does the synthetic fluid resist higher temps, but it decreases friction between the moving parts, cuasing them to generate less heat. if your not running a front maunt intercooler a great place on the J's for a oil and/or tranny cooler is to hang them under the metal bumper in front of the radiator. if possible dont mount coolers directly to the radiator, give them about 2 inches of space, or more, so the dont pick up the heat from it.
