Need help identifying stock intake bolts
Monday, June 19, 2006 6:51 PM
I removed my stock airbox a loooong time ago and threw away all of the relevant hardware. Now I'm working on the appearance of the engine bay and there are these 2 holes left over where it looks like 2 bolts went at one time to hold the airbox on. They are approximately 6 inches apart and to the left of the throttle body and a little below it. I think they are drilled out of one of the black plastic parts (sorry I don't know what half of these parts are, but I'm learning)

I'd like to know what size these bolts are (hopefully 10mm) and if anyone still has theirs for sale (or trade?) I plan to stick them back into the holes and use some kind of bolt caps to dress it up. Anything is better than the 2 holes there that make it look like its missing a part.

I know this is kind of a weird thread, but any help is greatly appreciated. Hopefully Jackalope will swing by here and punch it into the old GM parts computer!

Thanks!

Steve

The two brass threaded holes. They are just there. Probably intended for another aplication. (maybe a saturn)

You didn't take anthing out from those holes.

If you look dirrectly below the right side of the letter H on box on the TB there is a little brass/gold threaded hole.... is that what your talking about????

if so nothing goes in those holes, like Tom just said they are most likely used in a different application, for J's they are just empty holes

OK thanks guys!

Where would I go to find a 10mm bolt with the proper threading then? I hate these holes.

I know - I am a freak.
