Bad Install

I had my pacesetter 4-1 headers installed on my ecotec back in january at a local meineke. Now, either my header or pipe from the headers is cracked. There was no flex joint installed, and at the time I didnt know as much or I wouldve insisted on having a flex joint put in. Now its going to cost 150 to fix if its just the pipe (which they think it is and im hoping it is) and add a flex joint. Anyway, am I right in assuming that the flex joint should've been put in the first time without me having to say so? I mean, if the guy was thinking hed save me money, its ending up costing me more now. Has anyone else ever had something like this happen and been able to get money back or repairs done free or even money to order a replacement part?

The Ecotec header has a sort of built-in flex joint, its like a ball and socket, if it was installed correctly then you shouldn't have had any problems.

usually without a flex pipe (or joint whatever) the exaust pipes and hangers will go befor the header, header is made of thicker steel.

who put the header on in the first place? were the bolts overtorqed or not evenly torqed?

Why is it Meinekes fault for not putting in a flex joint. With aftermarket parts, if you ask them to put them on, taht is what they will do. It isnt his responsibility to be like, hey, you need a flex joint. They did what you told them to do, which is put on the header.
