TB and Manifold

Ok first off I have done my own research already on both products, and I'm not totaly satified with what I found for myself. So I'll just ask and see if anybody has already done this. I have looked up the HO TB and Manifold swap for the 2.4l. People seem to be happy with the results, but at the same time there is the EGR issue for the pre 99, which I have. Oh by the way I have a 97 Z24 Auto with intake, header, cat , catback, high flow muffler, upper and lower motor mounts, b&m shift improver. Anyway back to me leading up to my question. SO people seem happy with the HO swaps except for the EGR issue throwing a CEL. I know there is somebody working on a new mounting plate for the EGR on the pre 99's but I'm not one to really chance that. And well of course I'm not dumb enough to ask about RSM because as we all know they are crooks and way to expensive. What I want to know more about is JBP's TB and intake manifold. 60mm TB with matching intake manifold the setup for around $300? Sounds to good to be true, and from the pictures it is an exact match to the stock setup. My question is this, has anybody tried their setup and compared it to the HO swap. If so is it better, about the same, or really no diff what so ever for the prices. Is the JBP setup worth the money over the lower price for the HO setup? I'm guessing the JBP is just the stock 2.4 tb and manifold that has been ported out a bit for the bigger setup. If I'm right in assuming that then the JBP setup will not throw a CEL and is pretty much plug and pray right? Needing some answers before I take the next step please. Thanks!

My car has two speeds, fast and faster.

You are correct.

They're is basically a 60mm version of RSMs 62mm tb and mani combo.

Which you can save money as you can port on the intake yourself.
You can use a dremel to grind down the 1mm lip on the intake.
Hell, you can use a file for that matter.

Then either get a larger tb made up.
Or there are some going around on ebay and in the classifieds.

But having both set ups, I can say the butt dyno feels about the same.
Which I was suprised to feel.
Although this time I'm running cams, not sure what effect it has.

Sound wise, the HO mani gives the meaner growl.
But its a metal mani and it should sound as such.

Have fun,
-M
