pace setter header

Is there anything besides the gasket not even being worth a sheet of toilet paper that I should be looking for or aware of? Just asking so that I do not get blind sided by anything at all.

Well its worth the tp.
Everyone has to wipe their azzes.

Just reuse the factory gasket.
Retorque the bolts where the springs are after a few drives.
And you'll be ok.

Also,
Engine mounts help too.

alot of the headers now have copper gaskets

After I installed mine my water pump went, car was overheating, had to get it replaced, and I heard this happened with 1 or 2 others.

I re-used the factory metal gasket when i installed my ceramic coated pace-setter header. Re-tourqued it after a couple of heat cycles, no leaks for 21,000 miles. Just re-use the factory one, i thought the one that came with the header was crap too.

your pump was most likely on its way out when you did the header , just happend to a coincidence that they crossed

my 00 still has the original pump , and over 110,000 miles

Only thing I ran into was that I had to use my own bolts for connecting the downpipe. I can't remember if it was because I did not get any, or because the ones Pacesetter sent were too short.

It's actually a very easy install. Just re-use the stock gasket and check it after driving a few times to make sure the botls are tight. I still usually check mine like once a month (even though I may not have to).

Thanks for eveyones input. I bought the painted header, oopps. But I went out and got the VHT Flame Proof (1300 - 2000 f ) Header Paint w/silica - Ceramic coating. Are there any issues with the painted header at all, like rusting through or anything like that. I just hope that this VHT does not kill the warrenty or anything like that. I think that this VHT stuff should do the job though, I have to put the header into the over and bake this stuff so that it can start the curing process, once at 250F, once at 400F, and then once again at 600F for 30 minutes each. Then on the car idle for 10 minutes, idle for 20 minutes, the 30 minutes under normal operating conditions.

make sure you strip off all the black paint first , and follow the instructions on the paint that you have

warranty wont be a problem , only time warranty is a problem is if you wrap it with header wrap

All of the paint was sanded off, I love my orbital sander. VHT silica-ceramic paint is on. Now I let it dry, then into the oven to bake. I think that this may be a time that I actually like baking. LOL. Tomorrow I install on the car.

I am not to sure, but I will find out tomorrow. I know that with the pace setter headers now they give you a copper gasket! From what I have heard from people the shakes tend to level off after a couple of weeks, takes a little while to break those puppies in. Me, I plan on getting both mounts. So that would be up to you I guess.

You want to get the mounts to keep the engine from rolling when you accelerate, etc. This helps keep the welds from cracking and causing major problems. It's the bottom mount that shakes like hell. My goodness it was way too bad for my car. I left it on for a month and it didn't get any easier. My dad drove my car and thought there was something wrong with it because it shook so bad. I finally got sick of it and removed it and left the top mount in. I didn't have any problems with the header cracking with just the top mount in. It was just my preference, but I really disliked the lower mount.

actualy its the combonation of both , those with the upper only then add the lower will notice more

then those with the lower only , then add the upper will notice more

the eco with rk's upper will notice a little more than others since their mount doesnt move much
