56mm tb problem again
so i noticed that occasionally my idle would be 1100rpm, but if i pushed the wHEEL instead of the stop arm on the throttle arm, it would close enough to idle at 900rpm. so i grinded the stop screw (mine's not adjustable?) down, tested it, down a little more, tested it, then thought i fou;nd the right amount, but as it turns out i went a little too far.
now the plate sticks in the body a little bit unless it's snapped shut, then its a little hard to get back open again so you hvae to give it a bit of gas... which makes driving smoothly at low speeds difficult.
yes i've adjusted the spring so its on there real good and presses it closed nicely, that helped so i don thave to snap it shut AS hard to get it to close, but it still sticks closed a little.
so any ideas on how to get the plate to be better seated in the body? i'm adverse to filing around it since i ruined hte last plate trying to do that... i also dont want to drill out the stop screw and put in a new one, although that may be cheaper than buying a new TB... i just don't know really hOW to get a new one in there, and i've heard" tap and die" kits are expensive?
if anyone has a 56mm or bigger TB that works perfectly with the 2.4intake manifold, i'll just buy yours (you can even hve mine) if it's for sale... my school loans cleared so i have a LITTLE money to play with.
tap and die kits are aren't too expensive, you could get away with just a tap. you just need the right size.
