Hi long time listener 1st time writer. I have a question about a 1996 cavy 2.2. I recently blew the head on her so obviously I can't drive her but I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of swaping more like transplanting, the engine for a 2.2 or 2.0 ss ecotec. I know what your thiking why not just plane or replace the head but she has a lot of mileage on her like 200k I love my cavy this is the only major problem i've ever had . But I really want to rebuild her you know give it a new lease on life. Besides changing the pumps, compressor, pcm , and harness. What needs to be done to make it successful?
Any comments or info would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. does the 2.0 ecotec have electronic power steering?
Do a search.
The eco's from the cobalt wont work
I was reading another thread I think you said that a 3.4 v6 will work w/ lil modification? What kind of modifications are we talkin about?

They WILL work, but nobody has really done it yet. I love how you jump to conlusions. Anything is possible.
I would swap the 2.2 ecotec or the 2.4L twin cam.
why not just buy a new head? cheaper more cost efficient...smarter
