Would polishing an intake manifold dissipate heat better and lower intake temps possibly? Would it stay cooler to the touch?
umm..im not really sure but im going to go out on a limb and say itll do nothing but make it look nicer..but you could sand it smooth and get it hot coated..again wouldnt help tho...i see you have a 2.2...you cant even touch the intake mani anyways..why bother?? phil

And yes I know an S/C is not the same as an intake mani.
Ummm..well with the supercharger maybe...since it is covered in powdercoat ..so it might lower them a tad..but doing your inatake isnt goin to do anything...phil
if anything it will do the opposite, if you remove the small pores on any surface you are decreasing the surface area of the manifold so with less surface area comes less cooling. On an intake this effect will be negligable
I forgot to mention that yes if its covered in powdercoat then removing the powdercoat will lower temperature....but it just wont look as cool......lol
im sorry but i might be missing something here. if its a stock intake manifold ... there plastic (welol the 2200 and ecotecs are) how do you polish a plastic intake manifold?

Exactly, being rough there is more surface area, and more surface area means better cooling. Dallas Blake is 100% correct.
