Ok so I have an 01 z24 automatic. I want to do the 086 head(p+p) swap along with hp tuners, intake/manifold/tb/exhaust/header, and cams. I am going to keep the stock bottom end for now...I plan on getting the head cc'd for proper compression ratio. My question is will the HO cams have enogh clearence with this head and the 2.4 pistons? If not i did read that the secret cams do clear but the HO look better to me. Also any one have a rough estimate how much power this will give me? Thanks

The Sc would give him less and cost more.

The Ho cams don't fit with the 086 head and 2.4 pistons. The Head CC is 48-47 depending on how much it has been shaved. No need to CC it. Go with 48 in your calculation. By keeping the stock bottom end, you compresison will be around 11.7:1.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll go with the secret cams. I dont think it will cost too much though or not as much as a sc. There is a junk yard near where i live that is one of those pull it yourself deals. I can get the head, cams, housings, intake, throttlebody all for like $125 i think i added up. And i know a guy who runs a machine shop so rebuilding the head isnt too much of a problem. I eventually want to supercharge anyway...I think it might be a good addition to these other mods.
