I just saw this on ebay... I see that it opens up at 64mm then tapers down to 57mm... while I understand from what I have read that this causes the air to bottleneck and move faster, isn't a 64mm for a N/A car?

It could be 100mm big on the opening and be 40mm at the butterfly, the Tb will still be a 40mm Tb.

It's Bs. don't buy it.

Its a 57mm TB. All 2.4 TB are larger at the opening, then funnel down to the TB plate.
Thats to much money IMO.

Very true,

But I think what those sellers mean is they taper down like a 'cone' effect.
Meaning they kinda knife edge the tb opening, then transition it down such that on the inside its totally smooth going to and from the throttle plate.

If you notice, the tbs taper down at an angle, then kinda stop at a point and go straight down through the plate and out. Just like a funnel.

The last 59mm tb I got actually recently didn't have any angle changes on the inside and was a total smooth transition.

But I agree, the prices on ebay are slightly steep.
Only because they lock you into one size tb.
I asked them if I provided a larger plate, they were still saying no no no.
Or if I could send in my own tb, t hey said no, just core exchange.
Boooo!!!

If you are going for a N/A horsepower ... then just stick with what you have. You will just see a power loss (i think) if you go with anything bigger than 58m
