Does any one know if the company that make autotrans interceptor is still around? I only ask b/c I was messing around with my car and my truck and figured out that my interceptor fits my 98 Olds Bravada I tried going to their web site but it says something about being under construction?? My next Question is do you think it's safe for my truck? ( yes I know it's not a j-body)
I've heard that its been shut down ... Search around and find out more, I dont have a 100% answer. Check Ebay see if anybody is selling theirs. They work great
they went out of bussiness. so whatever carcustoms, Gravana, etc etc has is all thats left

I highly advise not to go with autotrans intercepter. I had one for the 4T40E transmission in my 02 cav, and I got a trany knock. I still have yet to find out what caused that noise, but ... I dont think I'll ever use that again. Id go with B & M if I were you, they have been around ALOT longer. Not to mention, they are still in business.

I'll counter that.... with the B&M Shiftplus isn't actually meant for the 4T40E... but the Autotrans Interceptor was.
The high price of the Interceptor put them out of business. people went with the cheaper alternative.... pretty obvious. Even though it's not supposed to be used on our trans... whatever
would it work on a 99 cavi?
If you have a 4 speed automatic.... then yes. If you have a three speed... no.
I like my autotrans interceptor. when the psi is turned up it shifts hard when you switch from Park to Reverse or Drive - but I turn it down for daily driving and up at the track.

4 speed automatic (in theory, its a 3 speed w/ overdrive, but they consider the OD a gear)

Basically, but in a 3 speed 3rd isn't considered overdrive. It's just 3rd gear. Overdrive helps with fuel economy while on the highway or cruising steady speeds over 40. For drag racing you don't need overdrive. I only run OD on the highway and around town leave mine in 3rd since OD doesn't have the pull of 3rd and I have to step on it really far to get it to downshift. If I am going to be going 45 mph or more for some time I put it in OD.
I sometimes wish my Z had a 5-speed but then again auto's are more consistant for drag racing and you never miss a shift.
