Big question is...is it worth it? Would it help my drag launch all that much?

it's not a lsd, but as long as it's in good condition, both wheels will spins.

ok cool guys thanks for the info
I have a ATB LSD made by Quaife, and for the money I threw on it, it is awesome, I love it.
Got to track and never have to worry about anything or it breaking.
If you cut a 1.4 60 foot you break the diff.
Send it back to Quaife and they will fix it.
Lifetime warranty on racing, NOT instal defects. lol

I know my opinion doesnt mean anything because im talking about my hondas, but ill say it anyway ...
On my other civic i did not have LSD , and when i punched it , it pulled to the left and felt really unsafe ( B18B1 Turbo , B16 Si Tranny )
Now on the civic i have now has an Integra LSD , and when i punch it pulls harder and straighter. Not so much uneasiness and torque steer as the non LSD. Ide say it was an AWESOME upgrade. A must have for someone who loves to punch it

a good lsd will def make a difference in your time. i currently have a qhaiffe in my car and i have to say it was probably the best mod i made to the car.
the good news for everyone else thats reading this, is that i am getting rid of the cav in approx 2 months so i will be selling my quaiife diff. so if anyone is interested just email me. has less than 5k on it along with new diff bearings when installed. and dont try and low ball me. i did not get this from the group purchase. and im not gonna sell it for nothing. dont mean to complain, but everytime ive tried to sell something here u guys seem to not want to pay for anything.
Don't steal, the government doesn't like competition
had mine in for over 40K now, awesome as nuts!
lsd insert or a quaife....as long as it does its job, you will dig it. especially in the winter. i drive year round. just as much fun on a track as in the snow.
For a newb...what is an LSD insert????
I guess In leu of the topic. why do I hear that inserts are bad? I hear they break.

Poorly made and designed LSD inserts break. If you make them right they can be the strongest part of the trans.

yeah you will hear that just as much as you hear, "engines NEED BACKPRESSURE"...
some people basically as hypsy said, use crap materials. like random steel grades which are not designed to wear well in long term. or warp.
phantongrip, team green use decent grades of metal. so no worries there.
ACER, that should be it. if you arent completely sure, either call em, or arrange to send your diff in for custom fitment. i did the th125C/3t40 prototyping a while back.
from looking in the shop manuals the diffs looks similar and the diff case share the same part number

so it may be the same for all...
Inserts can cause extra strain on the spiders.... but in reality, breakage isnt an often occurance.
Trust me, I launch with TGs LSD, 24.5x8 slicks at 7000rpm and havent broken @!#$.
