Ok so i got an off brand CAI for my sunfire that places the filter in the fender well where the "bong" used to be. My question is if i leave the fender liner off will rain/snow/mud all that crap get to the filter at all and clog it, destroy it?

actually the fender liner wasn't that dirty now that i look at it. you got a point tho cuz its been rainin here for sometime and it probably got washed off lol therefor the filter would get soaked, not good

Get a bypass valve if you're worried about hydrolock.

And you're better keeping your fender liner, it doesn't get so dirty in there. By removing it the filter will eat all the crap coming from the wheel!!
