tthere was no way i could avoid it.. it st arted to rain sooo hard onthe way home last night, i never revved past 2500rpm to keep the engine suction down, but it started to bog down, and idled at maybe 200rpm and was PISSING smoke out the exhaust for a while... (i had pulled over)
so i got a new filter on it in the rain, ditched the CAI and just put it on the stock airbox, it seems to run fine now, no noticeable problems
whats my next step. oil change, engine flush? what?
any help MUCH appreachiated

-I would be doing a oill change and flush...thats just me...
take the plugs out and crank the engine, if only a little water is inside the water will shoot out of plugs holes. The change your oil and filter

if there is water i the oil it will become white and foamy, if not, just drive it and it will evaporate. very unlikely any water would get into the crankcase. If you have had it running after that, any damage to pistons/rods/rings, is done. The heat will have burned out whatever was left.

Yah same thing happened to me with my aem cai...it was fine..although i do sugest gettin afender liner in..hehe..
check to see if your head gasket went or check to see if u got any water in your oil
i got an entire engine flush done today on my way to work, oil changed, the works... 110 bucks for it all.... the guy said he didnt see any water in it, and is prety confident that its cleaned out
lets say that it did @!#$ something up.. what are some symptoms i should be searching for
after the flush/change it seems to be running AWSOME...

If you decide to put the CAI back on, get a bypass valve. Lowered chances of future hydrolock.
its not going back on... well, maybe for shows and @!#$... but im done worrying about it... besides.. i hacked it apart LOL!

why? I had a bypass valve and they work great

You probably helped your engine. What you basicly did was a combustion chamber steam cleaning. It gets all carbon out of the chamber. Unless you tried to start the car and it wouldn't crank because of water in the cylinder your perfectly fine. Some people pay upwards of 50 bucks just for that very cleaning. If it started and ran fine you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
