just wondering if there is any speacial tools that i need to take off a cylinder head, this would be a 2200 head
that i saw in the pick your part. also is there any problems with compatability between years, or is one 2200 the same as the next?
Yes there will be small compatibilty issues with the 2200 between years as far as the EGR goes, but thats easy to fix with an AGR blockoff plate. As far as pulling the head, nope its pretty easy, I would recommend a torque wrench tho, you'll need it to put the head blots back to spec.
EGR blockoff plate, sorry typo
that is good to know. i am taking the plunge and going to get a head that i can try and do a
port and polish on. if we are talking spelling what is a head blot.
Definitely get new head
bolts
, remember they are "torque-to-yield" bolts, which mean they need to stretch a predetermined amount to seal properly. The used bolts are pre-stretched and won't allow the head gasket to seal properly.
thanks for the tip. i will be asking more questions when i get the head done. i am going out tommorow if it is not raining.
