I wanna get a smaller battery, mostly for weight reasons. I was wondering what is the smallest battery that I can get? What is the cranking amps needed to start our cars.

Grab yourself a motor cycle battery, around 650-700 cranking amps will work just fine for ya and most of those motorcycle batteries have that.

The 04 stock battery was 525 CCAs. I don't know if you want to trust a motorcycle battery if you live in a cold climate. You may need the extra reserve of a larger battery.

My friends all have a 25$ tractor battery from walmart, and they run it ALL YEAR long. I think it has 550CCA if I remeber correctly. If I didn't just buy a battery a little a while ago I would also have one. They weigh NOTHING compared to your stock battery.

Cranking power is a minumum of 1 CCA per cubic inch of displacement. Fuel injected cars add 20cca.

Look for the deka battery, it's the same as the braille and made by them cept much cheeper. They make an 11lb one and a 15lb one. I have a link of someone comparing and testing them i'll try to find.
