I have a automatic 2001 Sunfire GT, with the stock chrome tips.
The exhaust sounds nice, but I would like something a bit more aggressive and a bit loud. I am thinking on just changing the tips. Would this increase on how the exhaust sounds? Or does it depend on the entire drum system?
I really like the Magnaflow tips.
This one:

Would I just be wasting my money on investing on tips? Or should I change the entire mufflers?
i doubt tips will change the sound that much, may applify it a bit.
If you are looking for the sound, i suggest, at minimum a 'performance' muffler, i like magnaflows, borla, and flowmaster, sound is up to you. If you want nice sound, i would suggest high-flow cat, 2.25" compression bent piping, the biggest resonator, and the muffler system you desire, plus tips

the better sound will cost you more though
if your just looking for looks and sound lots of aftermarket performance exhaust companies make replacement mufflers or axel backs.
If you just want sound with a look get on ebay and buy a fart can with a silencer. $20 for the muffler and like another $15 to have a shop weld it on. There you got sound and looks.
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
dont do what Z24HO said to do...thats the problem w/ JBO, nobody wants to buy good parts. Any cheap muffler you buy off of ebay will be obnoxous and loud. If you want the fart can look go w/ an apex or hks or magnaflow or something, the quality of the muffler will have a direct effect on what the exhaust sounds like.
