Will Eco Intake fit 2200? (pics)

Well my K&N Intake I had for my 04 Eco Cavalier broke at one of the mounting points. K&N sent me a new tube for free. So me and a friend were wondering if the tube will fit in his '97 Sunfire (I think it's a 97), with the 2200 engine and it's a manual. If we can make the tube fit, he is just gonna buy the filter and other parts we need.

If it will fit, what do we do with the 3 holes on the tube? I am talking about the ones down by the throttle body of the intake where the intake senser and stuff are.

Look on my Cardomain if more pics are needed.

its not going to fit without some major modification. if its a 97, its a 2.2, not the 2200. they are different.

Honestly, he has never told me which engine he has (I just figured it was the 2200). I will check tomorrow maybe and let you guys know for sure.

If it doesn't work, send it to me! I think I can fix it Or at the very least make it usable.

Sounds good to me. I will find out if we can us it this weekend for sure on his car. All it really needs is to be welded back and your good.

Yeah, its not gonna work out. So, it is up for sale if anyone wants it. $50 +shipping takes it (and I am gonna clean it up). It was only on the car from March until a few weeks ago. And I am not looking for someone to fix it, I am looking to sell it. K&N sent me a new tube for free so I don't have to worry about fixing it.

Silly question. How did you get ahold of K&N? I have the same problem and would like a replacement as well.

K & N does not make the intake for the cavalier's. They just make the cone filters for our cars. Just go to your local parts shop and ask for a 3" K & N cone filter, if they dont have it in stock, then they can special order it for you. Don't even bother calling them .. they are pretty much worthless customer support. I'd have to rank them up there with rk sport, lol

And all I did was send K&N an e-mail telling the guy what happened. He was cool, told me to take pics and send them to him, and he sent a new tube to my front door no questions asked pretty much. At first, I was gonna try the rk intake, but after talking to K&N, I would rather just have the free one.
