Ok, saw this on ebay.....

I know, ebay things are mostly crap but i saw this auction for a performance header for my sunfire.

Yea, i know, it says "buy it now" for 40 bucks...so i am sure it is crap, but just wondering if anyone else has bought a header off of ebay.

I had one like that, not that one in particular, mine was closer to 80 or so, but same design. It fit pretty decent, but I ended up putting the stock manifold back on. One thing I didn't like was the welds. I had to reinforce all of them because they were so thin. That said, if i were you, I'd get the OBX header instead. That's basically the header these cheap ones are made to copy. Granted, it'll cost over $160, but you'll be getting much better quality.

I agree with johnny, if you want it bad enough, you'll save for the real thing or end up in the end buying more than one of these garbage ones because you'll never end up satified with what you have. By the time you are satified, you'll have spent enough money to buy yourself a nice OBX or Pacesetter, and isn't that what you really want anyways. I'd say forget the gimmicks and get an OBX or Pacesetter, better to save for the real deal and be happy than to buy garbge and be upset or dissatified.

have the obx header off ebay paid $155 for it and have had it for a year... no problems out of it......

better yet, sue those guys for false advertising. they advertise as a 4-2-1 header, but all it is a 4-1 header

ask them first if the photo on the site is supposed to be of the actual product

that way u have the money to buy a few of the good ones lol

i got a tsudo header off ebay... exact same design as obx but 70 bucks cheaper
no problems so far and w/ a gm s/c the throttle response is amazing

I looked up the OBX on ebay and it is selling for about 155 bucks.

On Rksport and RSM they sell headers for 400 bucks.

Is there a difference in performance?

probably not, IF there is more performance from rksport and rsm headers then its maybe 1 whole horsepower, if that.

the old 4-1's for the 2.4 was a FANTASTIC design from RK, and I still use mine to this day. the 4-2-1 .... well thats another story.

If it's anything like the one I had, it has a merge collector, so technically, it does go from four into two before the final merge. But I can see where you're coming from. The typical 4-2-1 merges MUCH sooner.
