i currently have an intake, exhaust, hiflow cat, and engine mounts, and im looking to get more mid range to top end power. wut can i get that's not gonna cost an arm and a leg? im getting a pacesetter header soon, but im looking for other options. im gonna get the gm sc next yr, so anything that could be a good addition to that would be great
set of cams is nice. you can go secret cam swap, or your own custom grind, or get some from Levelzeromotorsports. bigger TB

wut kinda gain do those cams give, and would a bigger tb compliment a sc?
No one has dynoed the gain from the secret cams. Most agree they work wonders over 3500 ish to red line. I hope to get this sometime this spring. The T/B will complement the other things you have done to make the engine flow better, and yes it will help the s/c when you get it. Pretty much any bolt on you do will add power higher up, thats just how it is. Good luck.

Do you have a header already or just a cat-back, if you don't have a header then get one you will definately see more mid and upper power with one. Also doing cams will also help of the GM supercharger, also a ported & polished head will also add to your mid and upper power. My 2000 Z24 had the OBX header & a catback on it when I bought it and it has tons of mid and upper power & torque.
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.

thnx guys, ive seen info on the secret cams, how much will all of that run me, and wut is a good choice for throttle body size and brand?
The HO t/b is 56mm or 58mm (can't remember now), stock Z is 52mm, Mantapart sells a 60mm, RSM sells a 62mm, and i have seen some peps with 65mm, not sure where to get that. I have heard of peps porting out the HO one to around 58 or 59, just below 60 (so i guess they start out at 56mm) Hope that helps. All this info i gathered, no actual measurements.

HO TB is 56mm, and I have a dyno graph somewhere with dyno results of the 1st hybrid cam swapped 2.4, but there's P&P head and possibly 59mm TB on the engine at that time. Made 164hp to the wheels I believe, can't remember torque.
Hybrid cams will give you a good boost right where you're looking for it, and a bigger TB helps a pile as well for top end pull. I'm running a 57mm TB at the moment w/ hybrid cams & P&P head.
15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?
how much did that run u, and where did u get em?
Grab an RSM throttle body - make sure its true 62mm bore (some arent). The cams will net you perhaps 10hp total - they work better combined with a ported head.
If your going to get the blower kit, have piping for a nice 3" intake (cold air), full exhaust (2.5" - header back), bored throttle body, pulley boys 2.7 pulley, cams, and hptuners - you'll have fun running around 7psi on the streets.
yea im upping my exhaust to 2.5", so ill save up for that other stuff now then. me and my buddies are gonna split the costs on hptuners and credits so i look forward to that.i thought rsm was closed or someting
They exist under z-spec www.z-spec.com
Or you can bore out your 2.4 t/b and get a new butterfly put in <- cheaper option too
elaborate on the "butterfly"

57mm TB is a bored out stocker, don't remember how much it cost anymore. Cams were around $300CAN, had them put in when head was swapped for P&P one.

sounds good, where do u pick up hybrid cams then? i havent exactly heard of them just secret cams

Hybrid cams = Secret cams
They come stock on two different motors...hence the hybrid
Intake cam comes from a 95' LO quad 4
Exhaust cam comes from a 90-94' (I think) LO quad 4

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
^^ correct me if im wrong
the exhaust cam is a direct swap, but the intake cam has to be modified???
and then new lifters and gaskets from ld9
* * BIG FOR SALE POST * *
There is no modification done to the intake cam. The reason you take it from a 95' is because that is the crossover year where gm made the cam sensor grind and hex cut for the power steering on the camshaft. If you were to take an intake camshaft from an earlier quad then yes you are correct.
Lifters aren't needed as I have the same ones as have been in my car since day one and seem to be working just fine. And yes, the ld9 gaskets for the cam towers and timing cover are a good idea to get as well.
