ITS ALIVE!

Well got the cavy up and going again. Went to a junk yard and bought a fuel injector off a 2.4 with only 10k on it. Put it all back together cleared my code and started it up. The car started up no CEL idles fine BUT white smoke was pouring out of the exhaust like crazy. Filled my garage in like 5 sec with white smoke. I then took it out for a test drive and it bogged down real bad so I took it back to the house. Shut it down and started checking everything over. At this time it was smokeing even worse than before. I forgot to tighten down the 2 bolts under the fuel rail all the way so I tightened those all the way down and started it up. It stopped smokeing and I was going to go out and drive it again to see if that took care of the bogging problem. When I noticed a puddle under the back end of the car. Only to find out that my fuel filter is leaking fuel now. It is leaking from the fitting that you screw in. So I took it off and found out that some how its cross threaded. No problem I'll just put on my new fuel filter that I have laying around. Only to find out that the quick release tabs on the other side of the fuel filter are broken off. Any ideas on how to get the fuel filter off without having to drop my fuel tank and replaceing the fuel line?? This is the only thing I beleive is keeping me from driving my cavy. Which I need to get on the road because my truck just killed over 2nite and I have no clue why. All info is needed thanks!

In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
