this question is for people that have installed cold air intakes on the cavaliers, did u remove the whole parts to the air box including the parts in the fender? , because i just installed mine and i left those parts on. does it rob u of any horse power?
well since you didnt remove it, I assume its not a cold air rather a short ram correct. if so there isnt any need to remove the lower air box unless you installed an actual cold air intake and if you did, you wouldn't have been able to run the cold air piping down there if you didnt remove it.
it is as close as it can be because the battery is in the way, it is longger then a short ram it is right by where the air come from the outside. Not to sound like im being a smart ass because im not, but do you know the set up of the 99 z24, i mean the way it looks?
meanig the engine not body, because battery is in the way. I hope i dont sound like im trying to be an a$$hole.
no the z24 has the same engine bay design as an ecotec which is what i have. and thats a short ram. any intake that the filter sits in the engine bay is a short ram doesnt matter of the length. the length depends on how your motor bay is set up.
ok that thanx, is it possible to have a cold air intake on the z24?
yea its possible, why wouldn't it be?
because i cant find one anywhere, i look around from part stores to websites and all i getis the short ram intake. If you know about one could you let me know?
Aem makes a cold air intake and im pretty sure if you search hard enough you can find one on ebay
aem's intake looks exactly like my intake, im telling you there is no other intake to fit the 99 z24 other then the shorter intake that everyone calls a short ram. You would have to relocate the battey and then even if you do that you cant fit piping through the hole where the airbox was. The only other thing that could fit is an inercooler but i dont have a turbo.
