About a year ago I got a little rod knock. I couldnt afford to buy the parts to build up the motor, so I bought a used one. We got it installed "me and the almighty car god". It runs but when it:s cold I hit 3 grand and it"s like i'm bouncing it off the rev limiter. Motor warms up i can exceed 3000, but with NO power. Intake sounds like a honda, at 4000 pulls hard but sounds like the motor is gonna blow. Air fulel doesn't read unless the pedal is to the floor, then reads rich. After driving for about 20 min. oil goes from 80 psi "cold" down to "20-25 psi" then gets real chattery. Idle is ruff, feels like a miss fire. You can feel the ruff idle shake the car. Got an opinion from Auto Zone they said the cat could be clogged hence the A/F not reading. Makes sense. The almighty car got replace the water pump before motor was installed. He clamis he locked the cams, but i'm thinking the timing might be off. 16 miles to the gal. is killin me. I need some help please. Thats sonds pathetic but it driving me crazy.

I probly should have added that the check engine light was on before the st motor went, but that was 'cause it was throwing a code saying it was bad emisions. When I replaced the motor it never the engine light never came back on.

Have you check the O2 sensors? From what I have read, the only thing those A/F gauges are good for is to tell when the sensor is actually going out so you might have bad sensors. Also, have you checked the little sensor that hooks into the intake.

O2 sensors are good. just replaced the 2nd one 10k mi. ago. If the sensor was bad i would asume it would throw a code of some sort.

Got opinion over the weekend and don't know why I didn't think of it myself. I may have a bad lifter. If that is so, could that be the reason that I have NO power, and bad gas mi. What do you guys think. It seems i'm the only one responding to my posts. I know its been a while since i've been on the org, where's all the comments and opinions that everyone use to give?
