Anyone know any quiet mufflers, but that are almost flow through or less restrictive? Something that looks nice too, no ricey stuff. Anything from $50 to $150 would be ideal; inlet 2.25 or 2.5 and outlet anything equal to that size or bigger; dual outlet is fine too. Thanks a lot in advance.

dynamax super turbo and a nice big resonator
Magnaflow has some low DB, straight through mufflers...
I have one on my 00-Z, and it has a lower resonance than that of the the "ricer" variety. A nice low warble..
Not surprizingly makes the car move a little quicker, but it dont throw your hair back..
..when your hard on the gas in the city, you get a nice reverb off the buildings, it is by no mens ear-splittingly loud..

or for a detailed sound, click on the 2007 solstice.....Thats pretty close to what my car sounds like... Park, Neutral in the automatic
has a rev-limiter so unfortunately no 6,000rpm cackle for me
2.2L closest I could match was the Cobalt (but thats an ecotec) so I dunno on that one.....notice how the the extra .2 of a litre makes quite a difference in tones.
hope this helps,
cheers..

quiet mufflers
Wouldn't that be a double negative?

I enjoy the sound and the feel of chambered mufflers. I have a Dynomax/Trush Turbo muffler. A nice long resonator will help also. I have a glasspack myself. I can't hear my car very much beyond 10 feet. At ten feet it's pretty quiet, and I enjoy that.

do resonators take away any performance value? if not, ill be adding one to my car because i absolutly hate how loud it is.

Technically...Yes
For our purposes... No...Just as long as you get a perforated core and not a louvered core.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
Yeah I already have a resonatore, decent size though; not that big. Thanks for the help guys. I found a few mufflers but I don't know if they are quiet or not. None of the mufflers I found have any info on it; but I'm thinking of looking at the mufflers yall proposed to me. Thanks again.

Is your dynomax the SS turbo muffler from the catalog? I'm considering switching out my magnaflow.
dynomax super turbo 20/25" is quiet.

Alright I'm stuck between the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler and the Dynomax Trush Turbo muffler. I don't know the difference between either one, and they look almost exactly the same. Anyone have any arguement to support which one I should buy? Thanks in advance.

the thrush is a little lower quality than the super turbo. honestly, the super turbos are like 40-50 bucks, just get that. part # 17731 is the 2.25 18" version, which might create some interior resonance. 17747 is the 25" version that will absorb more sound and have almost no interior resonance. i dont remember the equivalent 2.5" version part #'s, but you can look those up on their website catalog.

^^^ listen to him
I agree that it is lower quality, but I made the cutoff for sound level here in san diego
Thanks a lot guys, I think I'm going to go with the Super Turbo 25" version. And thanks a lot Viper, you basically just did all the work for me. jbody.org ftw!

There should be a clear definition to the word "quiet" when it comes to describing mufflers.

I think they should post how many decibels that the muffler has been tested to reduce
but that's really hard to do especially with these free flowing aftermarket exhausts and what not. The Decibel number may change, I don't know how sound resonance works inside the exhaust tube, so that'd be something difficult to predict methinks.
