yea like the title says this sux, yesterday i was racing a civic hatch and even though i won i did somthing that totally screwed me over!! when i smoke that snatch my buddies were standing around watching and when i rolled back to where they were i decided to do a burnout and all of a sudden i heard a loud BOOM!! and when i got out to check out what happened i had snapped a axle right in two, the bad thing is they were video tapeing it all go down!! what should i do cause it just decintegrated that axle? what other one should i go with? would ones out of a z-24 work better?

oh my GOD. well... eh, if your really worried about "snapping" anothing axel... check out
www.driveshaftshop.com im sure they can help you
but, im going to go out on a limb here and say that your car doesnt need them, so just go down to your local oreilly's, adavancE, pep boys, etc and buy you a new axel... they arent that expensive, and if u cant install it yourself, have a tranny shop do it and pay out the ass, maybe next time you should do a "burnout" with your "SS".
as far as z24's working better, or if at all... im gonna go with probly not.
well see the thing is that i have the 2.2l ohc ecotec swapped in and the axle's arent cheap but since i figured it snapped like that then maybe since im going with boost to then i would need a stronger axle u know!! you would think the stock axles would hold up to just my basic bolt-ons and my swap, its not like im running 300whp and i need racing axles! but i'll look into the site you shown and see wat they have! thanks

cool, could i see some pics of the motor in ur car? also... did you also swap the ecotec tranny in as well? or did you stick with the POS izuzu? how old are the axels that are IN the car (including the one u "snapped")?
The Eco is DOHC.
And Cav's aren't meant for racing, there is your first problem.
Double posting is your enemy.
i bet you got laughed at by the civic lol, least he was able to drive away from the scene

I checked it out, axles for an 04 cav are $84 a piece from Carquest. If you can swap in an ecotec you can swap out axles.
I cant keep anything stock....
Learn to do a burnout the right way and you won't be snapping axles. I've put more strain on my axles than you could EVER hope to and I've never snapped one.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

There was never a 2.4 Ho. The Ho was a 2.3 and low impedence injectors. Eco had high impedence injectors. Also, 2.4 injectors are not putting more fuel in the engine. Not enough to see a diference.

HAHAHA, I'm sure your weed waker was raspier than the civic.
Like said above, learn to do a burnout.

1)fix your axle. aint that hard to locate an auto parts store and order one
2) dont street street race. its gay and proves nothing.
3)learn how to do a burn out

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
I'm wondering how you were able to snap an axel.... I did a lot of 1/4 mile races last year (whole summer), 2 burnouts... axles like new!! The differential had a hard time this winter and broke at the beggining of 06 drag season...

I've been very very lucky, I don't know how or even why but they repaired it under warranty...

Stop doing stupid things and nothing will break!!

Yeah i had the same problem when i raced some one to. Right off the line mine broke well crushed the bearings that go in the wheel hub. i had to replace 2 of them from napa then after that i just havent raced it like i was. O and if you were woundering i was dropping it at 2 rpm off the line.

You must get bad-ass gas milage in the city, my car won't even run at 2 rpm

At the track I drop it at 2500 and never broke an axle!!!
what i want to know is...if he has the knowledge and skill to swap an eco in his cav...why doesnt he know where to get an axle?? oh..and what makes it an ss again?
^^^^ I thought the same thing..
maybe SS stands for super stupid
I tried reading the registry for a list of mods.. but a lot of them don't make sense...
getrag motor mounts..

A/c removal I'll attest too, not just for belt drag but weight.. PS removal does jack tho.. again with weight if you pull the 4lbs pump and 1lbs of lines... the a/c system weighs quite a bit more.. bout 60lbs altogether if not more

I questioned that too.. and finally...

don't be knockin the 3" exhaust
I know for the AC weight but it's still a free pulley. You may gain 1hp with a smaller belt. But he removed the power steering?!?!?!?!?
At least YOU have knowledge and YOU kinda need it and will need it but all HE got is a noise maker.
