this is just an FYI for anyone looking now or anyone kind enough to search later.......
i finally figured out the belt size for this combo:
2.4L twin cam
RSM/Z-Spec Lightened Underdrive Pulley
A/C delete
NO A/C delete pulley
regular alternator pulley
thats right....its just the crank, tensioner, and alternator
belt size:
Napa--050330
i believe that would equal a 330k5 at autozone or advanced. only reason i mention this is because the belts i got from them and tried were labelled 345k5, 325k5, etc
it was a bear to get on, but my brother and i finally got it on tonight. we put it around the crank pulley, then the tensioner and then i had to get under the car and push UP on the tensioner while my brother shoehorned it onto the alternator.
note 1: i have not started up the car, so there is always the possibility that this will get shredded or something once i do. im not the most knowledgeable engine guy so who knows what will happen. but this is the belt size that finally fit after trying about 5 different belts. i even cut a string to how big i thought it should be and it was still too small.
note 2: just in case anyone was wondering, i took all my a/c system out. its going on a drop top and i dont need it. otherwise i probably would have kept it all in the car.
hope this helps someone.....its a PITA to have to buy a belt, try it, take it back and repeat.

Interesting info. Qustion why go around the tensioner and not just go from crank pulley to alternator?

listening... ive often wondered this myself john. i always thought there would be no way to get a tight belt... but idk, the alt. doesnt have any adjustment to tighten the belt... i guess you could always muscle it
john: i wasnt sure how well that would work, so i went ahead and used the tensioner to ensure a tight fit. i figured it would be easier to get a belt on using the tensioner than to try and slip it on w/o it.

I guess you might be right. Can you take a picture of this?
