anybody ever put a 2.4 intake on an ecotec? i searched the forums and didnt find anything. has it been done and if it has can somebody tell me what needs to be done to make it fit right?
got a good pic of your eco? ive got some pics of my 2.4. we can just compare the positioning of the tb's and see.

which intake? There are some pics around here with a Eco running a 2.3 HO intake manifold.

i was actually refering to a short ram air intake. i have an aem from my old 2.4 and i wanna see about putting it on the eco..
i dont think it will. the TB is postitioned differently

Well only one way to find out... take a little time out of your day and just try it... lol.. since you already have it there its only a matter of lining it up and looking to see if the piping would run correctly. Then if you would need a different coupler or elbow or whatever you can get that then... I'm sure you could make it work one way or another... My intake I made from a universal pipe from an accord I believe... just hacked it down to what i wanted and went from there. And it works like a dream =)

yes it can be done my friend has on on his 02 ls sport eco just had to cut a bracket off the intake pipe that was supposed to mount on the 2.4 somewhere and relocate it

Bracket mounts to the bolt on the power steering pump.

yes you can heres proof..you just have to saw off the extra bracket

That little thing circled there will have to be trimmed along with the metel bracket that it covers and also some of the throttle cable retainer in order for the 2.4 intake pipe to clear, I used the AEM short ram on my 02 Eco, the intake after a little work fit and looked great, I also cut off the orginal bracket but then rewelded a new one on in the proper postion. Also watch out for the postitive battery post there's not much clearence and it can cause a real "shocking problem", pun intended. If get bored I'll dig of some pics I took of the install I did, also don't try to weld a new bracket with a cheap mig, bad things will happen! I used a really nice tig at a freinds shop.

yea they fit perfectly. Might rub the hood a little but not biggie.
