JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
are you going to throw another stock one in or get stronger ones made?

what'd you expect
there's cars making 300hp with the stock axles that are fine
this is a complete mystery to me since Jbody axles are NOT known for being weak. The CV joint.. ok if that exploded fine
but the axle SNAPPED.. makes no sense at all to me.
I have OEMs in place for now, but DSS will be getting a phonecall from me soon
could possibly just be a defect...it does happen

That looks near identical to Keeper's axle after he snapped it, and he doesn't have much for performance mods... his was a defect in the metal
i should mention the axles had almost 100,000miles on them so that may have played a part
o well no worries just figured i'd post the pictures up
but now your going to be getting the noobs thinking they need custom axles that can handle a billionidy hp because you broke yours....since people are following you like god now
lol
DSS should shoot me some royalties then for making stockers look bad and potentially increasing their business
that sucks! i hope that doesnt happen to me

there was people running 11's on these axles getting 1.X 60ft's
sucks man, hope you get it figured out! good luck

PJ, I'd re think buying DSS stuff.... I've left my axles stock for a reason... I'd much rather blow an axle than a tranny.

For some reason, I think the phrase "oh snap" sounds appropriate.
Gotta be a defect. I dont see why it would just break like that before the CV would.
"Oh Snap" is very appropiate here"Jesus", I already call one of my freinds "God". It seems like it was a defect, these axles usually take a beating,
my girlfriends cavy has a bad cv joint and shes been driving it like that for a year and a half now and I'm know to try to see if I can break it at least once a week. LOL. I'm also known for leaving the occasional J's in front of my friends driveway in my 00 sunfire and I have not yet had any problem with my my axles or my CV's yet and they are the weak point of these thing in any car that I know about and i've helped a lot of my friends replace them in their ricers and they keep asking me why mine never break ever though i've been know to beat the holy heck out of them and I respond to that by saying that, mine are tougher because they are may in north american where the manufacturer keep their eye WIDE OPEN and they don't squink so that they can make it seem like they are using bigger and higher quality metal and also they are not made of boiled, hardened and molded RICE either. LOL ( I love ricer bashing) LOL.
That was a really long sentence.

First off I assume you meant Squint... and second off thats just ignorant...

nah, good call man. exactly the way i feel as well.
skwirl... thats just wicked man, i would say just get some good OEM's with the really good warranty (some i think even have a lifetime) and you should be good to go.

thats the most ignorant thing i have heard, especailly when most imports are built in the US, compared to GM built in mexico and canada. also most imports are built to a higher standard than GM vehicles.. also go to any GM dealership, gaurentee you you will find at least in one spot where it says.. "GM Quality parts, MADE IN KOREA"
seriously i'd be ashamed to be your friend..
its just the monster torque of the skwirl haha
get ona dyno

lol

Ide take "rice" over your education anyday.
Your a good boyfriend letting your girl drive around , and left to be stranded with her messed up CV joint .. if you changed them in many "rice LOL" , then you should change hers?
And besides im not surprised your 2200 couldnt break an axle.
your garage is really dirty and ugly
You take a women and X her by PSI devide the legs and you can then juice the car......LOL
DSS axles suck... take it from me... my stock axles lasted longer then my dss axles
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
The best thing for you would be to take stockers and polish them..... I used polished 5/8" diameter axles in a race car I built and they held back 105hp all while dumping the clutch on them for 1/4mile and accell times during competition and never had a problem. This was after I used Chevy spring axles(almost 1" diameter) and broke them in exactly the same way as skwirl's axle.
Cracks start on the surface of the material and start to propigate from the weakest point of the surface material(surface finish imperfections), you can increase the strength of stock CV(~30micron finish) by at least 35% just by polishing them to a 4micron finish.
I'm guessing if you inspected the broken axle you will find what looks like a chip on the outside edge of the fracture, thats where the crack started from the surface imperfection.
I have to say good job on that axle tho.....
anybody ever have the axles cryotreated or shot peened?
if surface imperfections were the cause of that breakage, then either process should make the axle itself a LOT stronger
