wont happen, subaru's have a sound, can not be duplicated, it's the boxer engines .. and i wouldnt want every car to be able to sound like a subie any more than i would want any bike to sound like a harley.. it is distinctive... and we shall keep it that way

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

Buy a WRX you will never get your car to sound like a WRX.

In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.

plain and simple man, just buy a wrx turbo. This goes along with the how do i sound like a wrx, srt4, evo and ls1 threads, buy the car and you will get that sound, not some knock'off wannabe.

Build a motor that makes real horsepower...chances are you will like the sound then.

Otherwise, take the others' advice and buy the STI.

Check this thread... that should tell you how.

In all seriousness, it's not possible without either shoehorning a boxer engine into a Cavi or buying a WRX (in either case, it should cost around the same)

header, magnaflow high flow cat, biggest resonator you can fit between the cat and muffler, 2 1/4 catback, and a dynomax super turbo. you're looking at bout $450 worth of parts there, if you get mandrel stainless piping, it will last a long time, sound good, and flow just about as good as a flow trough setup.

in that case, you'd still need the half of a turbo to go with that half engine...

my megan racing catback with stock cat, cherry bomb resonator and pacesetter ceramic header sound awesome in everyone's opinion that has heard it...and you can bolt a silencer in the muffler for daily use to keep the cops off your ass.... you wont be dissapointed.

ive also heard great things about the dynomax super turbo muffler, and the borla muffler...

header, high flow cat, resonator, 2.25 inch piping, muffler of your choice. and before you ask what and where ill tell you

Header= ceramic coated pacesetter is nice. get them from one of the many online stores that sell j-body parts.
cat= magnaflow sells a nice one. i should not have to tell you where to get this
resonator= i think magnaflow sells them too
2.25 inch pipe= any exhaust shop. call around and ask for prices we cant tell you what someone in your area charges for that

Its so funny because its true. When my computer went and wouldnt fire cylinder 3 in my civic, it sounded just like the horizontally opposed unequal length sound of the WRX/STI ...

But boy, that was funny.

ok well lets put it this way. say i have never heard a wrx before, but i would like my car to sound deep, throaty, and be able to hear each cylinder do its thing.

i dont want my car to sound exatly like a wrx. i am using it as a comparison.

thats about the best i can explain it.

How can you tell that your car sounds like an STI or a Rat, when those two sound nothing alike? It may make a nice deep tone, but I doubt it sounds like a wrx, and I can guarantee you it doesn't sound like a big block.

I'm not picking on you...just trying to keep this thread as accurate as can be.

its not that i want my car to sound just like a wrx i just like that type of sound.
