blazer fuel pump question please answer asap

ok fuel pump took a shist.. and i remeber reading about the blazer pump swap and i figured it would be cheaper than a walbro
so i go to carquest and pick it up and they sell this pump for $165, luckily i work at penzoil and my boss got the discount from the guy that works at car quest so i got it for $60 sumthin..
then i drop the tank and see that the connector for pos. and neg. arent male connectors so i tried to make a connector but it was too big so its not gunna work and i was really counting on having this done and on the road in no time..

im not gunna ghetto rig the terminals so my questions is, Where can i find a connector to fit this? im guessing its really cheap

All you need from that is the pump, not the full assembly. It should wire in if you take the pump out of the Blazer assembly and putting it in your stock assembly.

NO STUFF SHERLOCK! all i have is the pump, filter, the boot that holds it in the cup, and new O-rings

obviously u dont know what you are talking about, after the fuel tank is dropped and you pull out the assembly there is a positive and a negetive SPADE connectors going to the male connectors on top of the fuel pump, on the blazer fuel pump there is a spot with 2 thin prongs sticking up not male connectors

so can i please have an answer from some one who knows where i can get one of these connectors that will plug into the pump

Obviously you failed to mention that you had the pump separate from the housing and you also obviously failed to ask if I had installed one of these pumps.

Not only that, but if you managed to read the link I posted it mentions nothing about changing the wiring.

I have installed one and didn't have the same problem you are facing now.

So, unless you happened to get the wrong year of pump (either intentional or not), to use that you are going to have to cut and splice the proper connector in.

To answer your question, junkyard or autoparts store where you got the pump.

I never had a problem when I installed mine, everything pluged right in. But while your in there you might want to cut the cup

P.S. for us that have been around here for awhile, hell even newer people like you. We don't take kindly to smart asses looking for help then turning around and be a dick about it.

all i wanted was an answer, im not a retard i did search, i got the right pump, i did read faq before i posted, and even did a dif. search on my own.
i checked to make sure it was the same pump as 95 blazer 4.3 and and 89 firebird 3.8 before i bought it

Im sorry for being a dick head, you guys know how it is workin on your car and sumthin doesnt go right gets ya kinda hot specially since i figured i'd have it done in like an hour and a half and that turned into a day and a half.. but just because im not a premium member and i dont post alot doesnt mean im retarded i have been a member of this site for a while i am expirenced but i dont know everything and when i have a problem with my J i come here cuz its the best thats it

so if we can get back to my topic about the pump.. im going to some stores tomarrow to see if i can get the connector everything else is done and bottom of cup is cut already, i just need to splice the connector to the pos. and neg. and plug it in and reassemble
and for the record the small tabs that were mentioned on the bottom of the new pump to be cut off are not on the carquest one

yeah its all good, the first time I installed the pump it took me almost a full day. then it still wouldn't run cause the little brown tube kept blowing off. to make a long story short I had the tank down three different times and I can now install a pump on a j-body within an hour

good luck you could just buy new connectors for both female and male sides and be done with it.

Never said you were. The only reason that I have a premium membership is that 1) I have no life, and 2) some of the things that I am working on right now would cause 100 posts to be gone in a week (that and point #1).

It is quite possible that even though you asked for a specific pump after researching it, the guy at the autoparts store (or whoever originally boxed up the one that you purchased) gave you the wrong one. It happens to me from time to time (in fact I have an ECU in my spare room that I can't use because its for the wrong engine).
