upgrading pistons for higher compression

well i have 2 spare 2.4 motors laying around and i was gonna build one up with 10:1 compression with my m45 because i made a mistake putting 9:1 on my current motor which hasnt been much of a loss that i can tell for going that low but im sure 10:1 would open her up alot more. Question is, would i have to upgrade anything else besides putting in some 10:1 wiseco's and thats it or would i need to hone out the walls also? I have .020 overbore on my current 9:1 pistions now. thanks.

if they were honed out not to long ago swap them and tune it. the balance from the 9:1 cpistons should be the same as the 10:1 use the new rings. just make sure you get .020 over for the 10:1's. i would all so put the stock pully back on the charger .

well, if you've got it there, apart, and waiting for parts, i'd throw somenew rods in there as well... no such thing as too safe

the rods should be fine, the motor has less than 10k on it.

Stock compression is 9.7:1 on the 2k+. 10:1 isn't going to be a noticable gain over stock.

i was thinking 10:1 CR with a thinner than stock HG and it should be pretty noticable.
