What is the best intake for a 2200? I was lookin at a Weapon R dragon intake and was wondering if it would be good enough. I want a intake that will eliminate the 2200 box.

RDFABS

Polished Stainless steel for a mirror finish if you want a shine that lasts.

Thanks man for the heads up I may look into that. do you think it's worth the $150 with the K&N? also do you run that on your sedan?

I started with just the short ram a couple years back when i joined JBO. Event had mentioned something about them in his performance sticky. I then found out these guys were in my home town so i said i'd save some money and go with them over AEM or Injen. It was such a great piece of workman ship with just the short ram i ordered up the rest that was needed to make it a CAI. Its seen one winter and salt and had no affect to the product. Little windex from time to time and still looks like a mirror. Picture below is after having it for 2 years. I have the K&N with mine, i never went with the filters supplied. I have no complaints with the K&N and i like the fact i can have it forever.

They also did my full exhaust in Stainless steel 2.5 from the header back.

Click for pics from install.

Ill save you the trouble now ...

Do not get the Weapon R , they don't fit good honestly. On my 2200 they rubbed the hood and the valve cover ...

And on my Ecotec .. it rubbed a hole in my SS hood ...

Dont waste your money.

Yet oddly enough I had no trouble.

Personally though from my experience I saw virtually no real gain in performance from my intakes. On my 2200 I went through about 4 of them. While each one proved to have a slightly better performance in the 1/4 mile The hair line difference does not make up for the kill to my wallet. Run to pep boys pick up some cheap parts and make one yourself.

Many people complaign about the hood rubbing. My only complaint was having the intake tube sitting straight on my valve cover which kept making the intake air temperature extremely hot. Try to find something shaped similar to what Nity9CavSedanCRJ has. With out the extension obviously if you want just a short ram. Or you could do what other people have done (including myself). Just get rid of the air box and attach a K&N filter to the S tube or just attach a filter straight to the throttle body (Currently what I am doing).
