i have the secret cam and lookin at getting pistons. i want to stay all motor, and i don't know if i should get the 10:1 or 10.5:1. what would be the final factor is if i get either one, would i have to worry about raisin my rpm with the tuning software. i hope this makes sense, thanks, kc.
Nope, it ain't stock.
I might be wrong if I am somebody will correct me. But if you are staying all motor and all you have is the secret cams. You should not need 10:1 or 10.5:1 forged pistons. Just get the 9.1:1 off Carcustoms from Karo and you should still have the same CR in your engine. As far as I know you will not have to mess with your timming. If you are talking about having to set your rev limiter up. Well, I don't think you HAVE to but the idea of the secret cams is to get you more power in the higher rpms. Smarter guys should come along and give you better info than I can.
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
either way your going need to tune the set-up with some thing whether it be HPT or a standalone..
if yours going for all motor power then 10.5:1 would be better, but your going to see a better increase in power if you do raise your Rev limiter..
remember
Hp=torque X RPM / 5252.. anything you do to raise torque (higher CR) or raise RPM will increase power.
so technically don't have to raise the limiter, but if your going for power, higher RPM is your friend.
