Hey guys another question for ya I searched and couldnt really find what I needed. Will a 2.4 out of a pre 2000 model cavalier work in my 2000 cavalier. the reason I'm asking is because as far as my knowledge goes the LD9 started in 2000 so will a non-LD9 work as long as its a 2.4L

LD9 is a 2.4, so all 2.4's are LD9's. LD9's/2.4's started in 1996 to mid year 2002 in J's. Truly you would be better off staying with a 2.4/LD9 from 2000+. Also they came in other cars than J's. Grand am's, Alero's.

A large amount of the 99 2.4's will also work as a direct swap for a y2k+ 2.4 as well, just check to make sure it does not have the EGR, and has the newer injectors...

yea im getting pretty sick of ppl hatin' if you dont have something productive or helpful to say get the hell out, some of us have a love for these cars and are gaining knowlage as we go. for all you 'experts' you have to have something better to do than try and cut down the people that dont know as much knowlage, get a life!!!!
