for those that dont know im in the middle of an eco swap. and ive decided to redo all the wiring on the car and run it in braided liners instead of the crappy plastic flexloom stuff. im just wanting a ballpark range on temperatures you would see in the engine bay. there are diffrent heat ranges on the loom and of course the higher heat loom is more expensive so i dont want to go overkill if i dont have to. im assumning most areas wont be to hot seeing as how the plastic loom holds up. but i guess im concerened with any wiring that should happen to lay near or on the block itself or tranny itself. thanks.

Depends where in the engine bay the wires are. The stuff that goes right above the header is a lot hotter than the stuff in the front.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

average temps will range from 150-250 , and around the exhaust 400 + the closer you are to it
