Poly upper and lower mounts Question.
Tuesday, January 09, 2007 12:40 AM
Hey guys, I just installed my RK Sport Upper Motor Mount Insert
RK Sport Lower motor mount, Ive noticed I am getting a bit more viberations at idle, How long does it take for them to break in?. I noticed they are stiffer, I am just wondering if thats normal?.

THEY DON'T.
Either live with the vibrations or go back to stock.
My dash vibrates like hell. I have the carcustoms upper insert, and lower mount.

yeah, the vibrations have always been there, the stock rubber mounts just absorbed them before. now that there's polyurethane there, the engine vibrations need somewhere to be absorbed, and are thus transmitted through the body. its just the way it is.

Ok, I was just curious about the viberations, I enjoy the nice firm feel, I just wanted some info on and reviews, I just thought something was messed up.

You could try filling the stock mounts with windshield urethane, thats what I did. You get a lot less engine movement and no wheel hop, without the vibrations... and it's only $12.

i forgot to add that the vibes are really noticable if you live where it gets cold. but when the car warms up they go away

or go with the TTR upper mount and it is a direct replacement and little to no vibes at all. plus many colors available. he should have one for most motors.
