Low idle RPM?
Wednesday, January 10, 2007 12:15 PM
I never really noticed this until recently. But ever since I installed my HO intake manifold and 56mm TB with the Fontana Flange my car idles at 550RPM. This seems a little low to me, or is it about right? What does everybody else idle at with their HO swaps? If this is to low of an idle how do I fix this? What could cause this problem? I have a feeling that this possibly could be related to my random dieing issues, (which has not happened for over a week now). Any ideas guys?

So your also idles at around the same rpm? Well, glad to know I'm not the only one. Do you or have you had any problems with yours dieing on you while in gear when you let off the gas? Guess I'll have to order HPT sooner than I thought.

I had a problem with the car dieing recently due to a bad ground....It might not be your problem, but wouldn't hurt to check.

Really?...Out of curiosity then, why do people suggest that vibrations from solid mounts are felt worse with the autos? I feel little to nothing around 1000 RPM's. (sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to be an ass, Lenko, but I'm not).
