Catalytic converter

I need new piping including the Catalytic converter all the way to the header for my 2.4L. Does anybody know of a good aftermarket brand and where I can find it, or should I just get an oem one. I have heard alot of people get CEL when they go with aftermarket Catalytic converters.

cat: magnaflow 94035.

then ,take it to a muffler shop and have them weld up a section of 2.25 from the header to the cat and use your current cat back. it'll be much cheaper than anywhere you'd go to buy the piping pre bent.

the cel: if you get the cel after installing the cat, look in here for the $4 o2 sim mod, fixes the problem.

Nub Questions... CEL= ??

Also... i'm installing a magnaflow hi-flow cat this weekend... any tricks or things I should know? I heard it would be a bitch to change over all the wiring for it? I was (stupidly) thinking i would hacksaw my stock cat away... and U-Bolt my new hi-flow up there... but i never thought about the emissions sensors...

CEL = Check Engine Light
MIL = Malfunction Indicator Light
DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Codes

There are no wires for the cat... you would just have to get a bung welded into the exhaust for the old sensor to sit in, no wiring needed.

so I have to get the sensor welded into the exhuast?
Can't I just cut the cat out, and keep where the sensor is already mounted to? Sorry for being a tard, but I haven't actually looked that hard at my cat yet and i'm at work atm

No their is a little bung that the sensor screws in on the side of the exhaust pipe.
You can't remove the cat or you will get the CEL problems.

Sorry... I worded that wrong...
I dont want to remove the cat completely... I meant, can't i remove the stock cat and replace it with a A/M and keep the sensor where it is?

no..the reason is because the sensor bung is directly on the catalytic converter, its not located on the piping. thats why u will either need to get a cat with the bung in the same location, or get a bung to weld in...

OK! =)
That's what I was wondering ty!
Now i'm going to read up on this 02 sensor mod... do i still have to weld it into the piping if I do that?

Do they make a O2 sim for our cars? Because I have removed the cats on my camaro, slapped on some O2 sims and its all good! no CEL.

Catco makes a full replacement high flow cat, (with o2 bung), on stainless piping decently cheap....summit & a couple other places carry it. You pay more for the part, but its a lot easier to install....no welding/muffler shop labor required....& I havent heard of any MIL problems with them.
